Ceylon Cardamom

Cardamom, a spice celebrated as the ‘Queen of Spice’ is another favourite spice that adds flavour and fragrance to food and beverages. Although three varieties of Cardamom are grown in Sri Lanka, they are commonly branded as per the geographical indication. Ceylon Cardamom is the dried fruit of the Elettaria cardamom tree.

Cardamom varieties that are grown in Sri Lanka are categorised based on the shape of the inflorescence yet all of them share the same light green colour unique to Ceylon Cardamom.
